Astonishing bodycam footage has captured the moment an Oklahoma police chief begs officers to turn their camera off as he tries to wriggle out of a DUI arrest.
Captain James French, 55, repeatedly asks the arresting officer to 'please talk to me' and whispers to turn his camera off, before later revealing he had been at a poker game and consumed around three or four beers.
French slurs as he tries to explain that he is in fact a captain for the force's Investigations Bureau, having been employed there for 32 years.

Disgusting pig.
Another LEO, beacon of the community, lifetime public servant . . .

That Thin Blue Line looks more like a skidmark in my bloomers.
I’m your captain
I’m your captain
But I’m feeling
very sick
If he was drinking enough during a poker game to get a DUI on the way home, he probably left a lot of money at the table.
All animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others.
Who else was at that poker game?
Such a fine fellow.
Bravo for the officer and what he had to say.
3 or 4 beers? What were they in? Buckets?
At least in my city, that would be grounds for dismissal to try and use his Captain position to wiggle out being held accountable for breaking the law.
Reminds me of a story told to me by a cop in the Dallas/Ft Worth area. OU weekend and he sees a car weaving all over the Interstate. Upon pulling it over, sees all sorts of movement only to find 3 or 4 guys sitting in the back seat and no-one in the front. Turns out they were Oklahoma State Troopers who appeared too drunk to drive. They said they could fend off a public intoxication but not a DUI. No-one went to jail that night...
Captain, my Captain!
This is why police unions fight the implementation of cameras.
And, if they have to use them, they demand the ability to turn them off.
O Captain! My Captain!
BY WALT WHITMAN
O Captain! my Captain! our fearful trip is done,
The ship has weather’d every rack, the prize we sought is won,
The port is near, the bells I hear, the people all exulting,
While follow eyes the steady keel, the vessel grim and daring;
But O heart! heart! heart!
O the bleeding drops of red,
Where on the deck my Captain lies,
Fallen cold and dead.
O Captain! my Captain! rise up and hear the bells;
Rise up—for you the flag is flung—for you the bugle trills,
For you bouquets and ribbon’d wreaths—for you the shores a-crowding,
For you they call, the swaying mass, their eager faces turning;
Here Captain! dear father!
This arm beneath your head!
It is some dream that on the deck,
You’ve fallen cold and dead.
My Captain does not answer, his lips are pale and still,
My father does not feel my arm, he has no pulse nor will,
The ship is anchor’d safe and sound, its voyage closed and done,
From fearful trip the victor ship comes in with object won;
Exult O shores, and ring O bells!
But I with mournful tread,
Walk the deck my Captain lies,
Fallen cold and dead.
So I called up the Captain.
‘Please bring me my wine’
With body cams being prevalent there are tons of cops arresting cops on youtube nowadays.
The cops must HATE those cams...imagine what they use to get away with back in the day..
Lots of cop shops have “reciprocity” agreements with each other. Or you may know it by the term “professional courtesy”.
Only time it doesn’t work is if they currently don’t get along with each other. Usually because one of them can’t/won’t cover for another dept’s officer.
I have had lomg-term cops in the family. In case any karens demand “source”.
Bartender what is wrong with me?
Why am I so out of breath?
The captain said excuse me ma’am
This species has amused itself to death
We have a defacto national police force funded from Washington DC, unionized and highly paid.
