This Grown Liberal Man had a Temper Tantrum because his Dad told him to Grow Up and Leave.

Did you see up on the shelf in the closet? There is a poster cutout(?) of the son appearing to wear a orange boa on his head like a wig.
I’m happy for you.
the USAF recruiter,
You have a great and smart dad.
from their permanent abode
That’s where you’re wrong, there is nothing about his abode that is his or that he has rights to. He has been graciously been given food and shelter, and now it’s time to go. Now, Not in two weeks, two months, now. Find a hotel room, or a friend if you have any, but go. You are as welcome as a house fire.
Pandering to the past , failure to launch. The child has long worn out his welcome. It’s not his castle.
A permanent abode(domicile) is what you have on your driver’s license and bank account. And according to the article the weird young man had been paying rent to his father(and how many parents get that much?). It’s OK to tell him to leave due to the personal conflict, but eviction without notice is not OK.
I lived with my parents and paid rent for about a year before I packed all my worldly belongings in my MG and announced I was moving from Jax to Miami. My father was almost in tears and said I could always come back home anytime. My mother rolled her eyes. She probably danced a jig as soon as I was out of sight. 😄
Sure, i know of three different people in the last decade that had an ‘abode’ of storage compartments with 24 hour access. Driver’s license is a physical address where you get mail. Whether it’s an abobe is a different matter.
But it’s certainly newsworthy when a parent forces a child to fly. Birds do that every spring. Perhaps being “birdbrained” should be a new parenting skill.
I’d be lucky to still be breathing
My college buddy hadn’t even graduated and his mom turned his bedroom into her sewing room.
My father cried when I went off to college and my mother threw a party. 😆
