In AD 31 Sejanus was summoned to a meeting of the Senate, where a letter from Tiberius was read condemning Sejanus and ordering his immediate execution.

Never trust a guy with "anus" in his name.

Aside: Tiberius could have summoned him to his palace and had him carry the sealed judgment to the senate where it would be unsealed and read.
