A brand new home perched on cliff in a state/city famous for earthquakes. What could go wrong? Also, earthquake insurance covers your structure. That’s maybe a $5M house on a $20M lot. He’s basically paying to have rich/famous neighbors...

Earthquakes aside, if I had his bucks or anywhere near it, I sure wouldn’t plunk it down on a piece of property in the state of California.
What with the liberals running that state into the ground, the rising crime and homeless rates, the high costs of living, the high taxes, the long list of onerous government regulations, the lack of personal freedoms, the anti-business climate, etc, etc, one is just asking for trouble when buying a house or business in California.

To each his own I guess. I would have bought or built a house in the country with 300 or 400 acres of land. The last thing I would want is thousands of people all around me. I would definitely leave this lousy state of CT. The guy won a lot of money. He would have to be a complete moron to run through that kind of money. Surprisingly there are a lot of lottery winners who went broke over the years.
