Expert: Iran Gearing Up to Attack Britain, West
Newsmax ^ | 9March2023 | Charlie McCarthy

Posted on 03/09/2023 12:30:16 PM PST by Signalman

A British columnist who has written several books on the Middle East says Iran is gearing up to attack Great Britain and the West.

Con Coughlin, defense editor for The Telegraph, wrote a Thursday opinion column in which he called on the United Kingdom and its allies to understand Iran's intent and do "a major rethink of how we deal" with Tehran.

"With experts warning that Iran could have enough material for a nuclear warhead within two weeks, it also means Britain and its allies need to give serious consideration to how they deal with the emerging threat to their security," Coughlin wrote.

"Indeed, apart from its nuclear aspirations, Iran has been working hard to develop an arsenal of ballistic weapons capable of hitting targets in the heart of Europe."

Coughlin said the Iranians have taken advantage of Western leaders who believe maintaining a dialogue with Tehran is the key to peace. For far too long, the predominant view in Whitehall [British government] has been that the best way to contain the Iranian threat is to maintain a dialogue with the so-called 'moderates' there in the hope that it will result in improved ties with the West," Coughlin wrote.

"Instead, all that has happened is that Iran has made significant advances in developing a nuclear threat, from acquiring weapons grade uranium to building ballistic missiles capable of carrying nuclear warheads. The success of these developments, moreover, appears to have given the regime the confidence to adopt a more aggressive stance towards the West, one that, given the unpredictable nature of Iranian politics, must be a major cause for concern."

The attack, if it happens, will be from within.
They have been importing the soldiers for decades.

If you didn’t know that Ukraine had the upper hand then you must be living in Russia.

“I honestly don’t care if Russia is more corrupt, as their corruption has not affected us in the same manner as the Ukraine has.”

You have blinders on. The Russians have been @#$%ing with us for 100 years. And what Russia does around the world affects us a hell of a lot more than its corruption. But, you go right on living in your own peculiar little world.

They are taking a massive toll and are barely holding on. After a year I would of expected them to take more. They are losing not only more troops but more tanks and are in trouble with world opinion. Nope Ukraine is clearly holding the upper hand. The Russian troops are also becoming demoralized and are poorly trained with a largely incompetent officer corps and inferior equipment.

The Ukrainians are also there. Putin and his people are willing to sacrifice as many young men as it takes. But, I don't think the young men and their families agree. Historically the Russians when they are under performing and taking losses like this rebel. They are basically servile little whipped curs. But, the whipped cur changes when he has had enough and the master shows weakness.

“So Russia also laundered money for Ronmey, McCain, Clinton’s, Biden, Obamas and God knows who else? Not a peculiar world. I hear much more about Ukraine ripping ua off than Russia.”

Money laundering is child’s play compared to what Russia did to the West; including, of course, the US. Russia significantly influenced the rise of the communist ethos in Western institutions.

***************

Lots of foreign soldiers have infiltrated our nation through our porous borders. Just look at the nationalities of those stopped by our Border Patrol and ask yourself why so many “military-age men” are showing up here.

With many of our soldiers stationed overseas, that leaves us, the armed citizen, as America’s last (first?) line of defense. The National Guard is our “official” militia but the rest of us make up the bigger “unorganized” militia.

Folks, we’ve got rats in the basement. Something about this situation feels very, very wrong. Pearl Harbor type wrong. I think it’s high time we get together with our neighbors and have a public “target practice day” at the local sportsmen’s club. Strength in numbers, friends.

"I’m sure Iran and N Korea would love to put an EMP right in the middle of the US and China and Russia would be cheering them on."

China and Russia would more likely be following on, and that would be the plan in advance. They don't think like we do. We need to get ready.

Yes, I know Russia’s more corrupt.

My feeling is we need to protect our borders. Our border with Mexico - our border with Canada.

There’s lots of ‘good causes’ in the world - lots of wars going on that would enjoy our help. But US taxpayers have to choose their fights. We’re not the world’s cops- and can’t afford to be.

At this time we need to protect our own borders. Biden’s interest in Ukraine seems tied to the cash given his drug addicted whore monger son... and the sons of other ‘elites’. I know that’s not the fault of Ukrainian citizens... and Biden’s corruption isn’t our fault either... but still...

I would feel better about protecting Ukraine’s borders if OUR borders were being protected by OUR military and our weapons were being used in our defense.

“My feeling is we need to protect our borders. Our border with Mexico - our border with Canada.”

That’s a no-brainer. Of course we should.

“There’s lots of ‘good causes’ in the world - lots of wars going on that would enjoy our help. But US taxpayers have to choose their fights. We’re not the world’s cops- and can’t afford to be.”

The best “good cause” for the US is blocking totalitarian aggression before it bites us in the ass.

“Biden’s interest in Ukraine seems tied to the cash given his drug addicted whore monger son... and the sons of other ‘elites’.”

And yet, Hunter Biden received more money from Russia than he did Ukraine.

The thugs running 'intelligence' in our country are aping the old KGB. If we want to stop US totalitarians we need to start with the people in our country who think 'the smart' people in intelligence are better qualified to choose our leaders than 'the people'. In short FBI, Homeland and CIA goons - ie KGB wannabees. (also - along with George Soros - the folks also backing the Ukraine War.)

You assume pretty much our entire federal government has been taken over by totalitarian apparatchiks. While I think there certainly are some in our government (and that includes our public schools) they have not — and, I posit, WILL NOT — win in the end.

You sound like you have already surrendered. Me? I don’t believe in surrenders: I am not wired that way; it is not in my DNA.

LOL - no, I have not surrendered... and I’m glad you haven’t either.

Our side is winning. The folks in intelligence who took that stance are starting to back down - and powerful liberals are joining our cause.. The two liberal journalists questioned yesterday about their sources are among them. And Elon Musk. And Bill Maher. And many others... liberal and conservative intellectuals.

We’re winning... new names every week.
