Before Clinton made her US AG in 1993, I believe she was an over zealous Florida prosecutor of some sort who specialized in tormenting parents and day care centers.

I don’t remember the details of her Florida career now, but I recall when Reno was nominated thinking, great, now she can screw people much more efficiently. Then, Waco. The sheriff told the government people, if you want to arrest David Koresh, he goes jogging very day and you can safely get him then. But if you go into the compound, you are likely to take some casualties. As I recall, Reno made the call as she wanted to make some kind of statement. Her later excuse was they were abusing children. What did that have to do with the arrest they were trying to make? She was going to use the raid to expand what the government was doing into seizing the children. She ended up killing them all. As far as I’m concerned, the whole disaster stems from Reno’s bad management. Yet, she walked away with no political damage. Why is it that often times the worst possible people end up in charge?
