Float planes are the only aircraft where the take-off is more challenging than the landing. That's not to say that the landings are a piece of cake.

This is fascinating footage. Playing NTSB but here are my observations:
- No flaps
- Engine is running
- Impact tears engine off!!!
- The spinning blades damaged/weakened the pontoons.
- The aformentioned weakened pontoons could not handle the extreme stress of the second impact and folded like a lawn chair
- Giant cluster F follows
