Unfortunately he learns that he did and does not really own his own land, the county or municipality owns it. All he had was a mere Color of Title.

Now, if he had an Allodial title, he would be sovereign over his land, and anybody thinking otherwise could be told to pound sand.

While the concept of inviolable private property ownership is a good and righteous thing, no jurisdiction in the US recognizes the concept further than state ownership

He did not own the land by his own actions just like the Native Americans did not own the land by their own actions.

Who can say they really own land they have not even visited for over 20 years?

If he did visit and allowed the goats to be on his property, then he willingly gave it away.
