You could market it on VRBO to sick o’s.
You can rent rooms at the Lizzy Borden house.
In a small rural town in Maryland (pop 2,000) there was a wife who killed her abusive husband and buried him in the garden. My friend bought that house at half off market value. People are just superstitious. New carpet, a little paint and an exorcism, it’s called restoration.
An old college roommate (& long time NFL’er actually) grew up nearby and said they used to drink beers on the front lawn in HS. The prevailing view was to laugh at the book and the stories.
I always thought it was a cool looking house, but do you want to live in a house w/ that history? There was a murder down the street here a few years ago. Crazed granddaughter killed her grandmother. Place was sold and a new owner moved in the next year. Is that any different?
I don’t know.
One of our rentals was the scene of a crime - a wife had her brother come to the house to kill the husband and make it look like an “accident.” It didn’t work and the husband thankfully survived.
We were contacted by one of the true crime shows a few years ago (the house was vacant at the time) - which asked if they could use our rental to re-enact the crime scene. My mother immediately said “NO” - so they called my brother (without my mother knowing) - and he told them “YES” - I was probably next on the list.
They filmed the segment in the house - we got a real kick out of see the floors my father had installed himself.
House is in a nice area and the husband wasn’t killed - so we moved on and the house is rented out to this day.
