Went out to breakfast with a friend yesterday. He is about 70'ish. His family was fully injected. His sister, brother and mom (90's) died from heart and clot conditions. He just had clots removed. I asked him. Did any of their deaths or your clots have anything to do with the injection?

Regarding the anecdote I related the other day about my coworkers talking about when they could get the next booster:

I got to thinking. Here I am, working for an organization of almost 2k people. We were NOT required to get the vaxseem. The head made a video back in late summer 21 implying people who didn’t get it were heartless.

But there has been nothing about it since, other than sometimes notifications about vax clinics and how many points one could get toward their healthy awards thing whereby we can get up to 300 bucks or so for 100 total points for a series of stuff, such as getting a blood pressure check, getting a flu shot, getting a yearly check up, etc.

Anyway, what are the odds that I would be stuck in corner of the room where the people to the left of me and people to the right of me are all fully boosted? I mean, by my reckoning of the stats on the Ohio Dept. of Health vaxseem dashboard, not even 20% of Ohioans ages 18-64 have gotten all the vaxseems there are to get.

Now, most of the people in the room probably live in Delaware County, ground zero for Karenism in Ohio and the most highly vaxxed. Still, the stats say no more than 30% in that county of people 18-64 got vaxxed to the hilt.

I really can’t explain what is so special about my org. that so many people would be so vaxxed when no one would really know unless you volunteered something. We were never required to answer a questionnaire about it or anything.

Mind you, the vast majority of jobs here require at least a bachelor’s and many people have more than that. So there is the dangerously over-educated factor at work, I guess.

But I’m thinking, “Man, if so many in my little corner are so vaxxed, how many of the whole 2k are?”

Furthermore, how many more people at my org. are fully vaxxed in terms of having had all possible boosters as compared to every other org. in Ohio of comparable size? Even orgs where the vaxseem was mandated?

A lot of these orgs never mandated a booster at all or only mandated the first one.

It is quite possible, is it not, that my org. is in the top third of most jabbed up organizations in Ohio despite never having mandated the vaxseem?

Weird, huh?

(We weren’t in assigned seats or sitting by job category or anything like that. The most likely reason we were sitting where we were was that we were among the last to arrive. But that was for various reasons— parking, people stopping to get coffee, people going to restroom, people stopping to put their stuff in their cubicle, people getting chatted up in the hall, etc. I can’t think of a good correlation between that type of behavior and loving to get vaxseems.)
