Toblerone is to remove the Matterhorn mountain peak from its packaging when some of the chocolate's production is moved from Switzerland to Slovakia.
US firm Mondelez said the image of the 4,478m (14,692 ft) mountain will be replaced by a more generic summit.
Strict rules have applied about "Swissness" since 2017.
They state that national symbols are not allowed to be used to promote milk-based products that are not made exclusively in Switzerland. For other raw foodstuffs the threshold is at least 80%.

Slovakia has some nice mountains in the Tatry Region.
At least it’s not like Hershey’s, where the “chick” has a big Matterhorn.
I like Swiss cheese made in Wisconsin.
I was in Zurich last year, and toured the Lindt Factory.
Highly recommened, and you can get a lot of samples.
Zermatt verklempt!
the Tatra Mountains in Slovakia are scenic
Costco was giving out free Lindt samples at Christmas. Best samples ever!
That tour would kill me. It’s hard enough staying alive in Spain.
Toblerone made outside of Switzerland is not Toblerone !!
My favorite chocolate for the last fifty years has been Milka though it too has changed a little for the worst.
Good for them keeping quality standards and authenticity high. Italy does the same with stamps of approval of products coming from designated zones (Prosciutto, tomatoes, olive oil, etc) so people know they’re getting the real thing.
Another country that has gone woke. They use to make lots of fine things. Now they host WEF and other globallony organizations
Yep, same here. :-)
Milka Noisette is my favorite. Yummy!
I’m not very picky about chocolate (itself), but the best milk chocolate is our local Baltimore shop, Rheb’s.
Soup NAZI knee-buckling level taste.
Milka is very good. Got lots of it due to my cousin living in Germany for 20 years.
“Just following the Land O Lakes protocol. The Indian content of their butter was zero.”
I hear ya. And don’t even bother trying to order panda at Panda Express.
Woke?
They are sending production to a foreign country and their stupid Swiss rules say they can’t have anything “Swiss” on the packaging then.
