It's not unconstitutional, it's just that the VP will be banned from receiving the state's Electoral College votes, likely creating a split administration since Florida is one of the largest states and a Trump/DeSantis ticket wouldn't be able to overcome the loss of EV for the VP.

The Cheney situation was different because he wasn't holding office at the time. If DeSantis were to leave the state, he'd have to give up the governorship.

Besides, Trump doesn't need DeSantis to win Florida. Maybe somebody like Greg Abbott (TX) could serve a similar purpose -- border state, strong on immigration, disabled?

Trump would leave, not DeSantis. Trump already has a 2nd home in Jersey. All he’d have to do is change his homestead. Not that any evidence REALLY points to a DT/RD ticket but...its certainly doable
