Steve Bannon Going Off On The Oligarchs Trying To Stop President Trump
"Donald J. Trump is not simply a leader of a political party, he is not a politician, he is a leader of the most powerful political movement in American History!"

Utter nonsense.
Trump is and has always been a populist politician.
“Trump is and has always been a populist politician.”
Trump has only been a polotician, of any stripe, for 8 years. He never ran for public office until 2016.
In ancient times, Trump would have been one of the great generals of Rome. He is bigger than politics, IMHO.
I think you’re right.
Preach
Many Trump supporters wish he would act more like a politician.
Trump is a "what you see is what you get" kind of person. That is the opposite of "politician."
Here is the secondary definition of "politician":
a person who acts in a manipulative and devious way, typically to gain advancement within an organization.Does that sound like Trump to you?
You are so stupid
You got that right!
A politician owes someone behind the scenes whose interests don’t necessarily reflect those of the constituency. Trump is a representative.
WRONG.
He is one in a billion. Not perfect, but able as demonstrated of leading a great nation towards a unified vision of strength and prosperity.
Many have the capability of Donald Trump, but have not demonstrated ability because they lack courage.
G_d gives gifts to all, large and small, many and few. But if one doesn’t use the gifts given, it would be better they hadn’t been born.
Donald is using the gifts given to him.
Bttt
I love Bannon but this is blustering rhetoric. George Washington &John Adams lead the greatest revolution in this country’s history.
Does it hurt when one’s brain farts so voluminously?
So the question for us and most Republicans is can Trump win or must we go with DeSantis? Steve Bannon does not really address the question whether Trump can win, rather he argues that Trump deserves to win because he delivered four years of peace and prosperity. I agree that he did that and more, but politics, to paraphrase Mae West, ain't got nothing to do with deserving -nor should it.
The party does not owe Donald Trump another run if he cannot win, full stop. The Republican party does not need a William Jennings Bryan or another Harold Stassen.
So we ask ourselves the question, is the risk of Trump losing great? Can that risk be eliminated or significantly reduced if we nominate DeSantis? Some will argue that we can have Trump's policies without Trump's baggage by nominating DeSantis. True supporters of Trump will argue that you can't have Trump's policies without Trump.
Trump supporters will say, since you can't have Trump's policies without Trump, the speculation that DeSantis has a better chance of winning is irrelevant because without Trump there is no victory. DeSantis supporters will say, Trump can't win so we must assume that DeSantis will deliver the goods if elected because we know his record in Florida and we know what Democrats would deliver-and we might never recover.
In deciding whom to support in the primary there is only one question for me, can Trump win? If he can win, and will win despite his baggage, he is the man. If he cannot win because of his baggage and because of the forces allied against him, DeSantis is the rational alternative.
Answer that question and we have picked our man.
Trump is and has always been a populist politician.
*********
With his money/prestige he has been involved at least behind
closed doors over many years. That is just part of being in
the money group.
Good assessment. Since it is reality based, many will reject it out of hand.
Re: 16 - Easily the best post on this topic.
Then once a candidate is elected at the Republican Convention, there will be a decision to be made by those who have stated they will only vote for President Trump or only vote for DeSantis. On FR, Jim Robinson has always been clear on what he will accept as appropriate conduct once the Republican nominee is set. It’s reasonable to believe that will be the case again, no matter what he decides.
In the larger community and ultimately the country, people who claim “Nobody but //insert candidate name//!” will be faced with a choice.
These TDS'ers love showing the world how stupid they are.
