That is immaterial. I would hate see DeSantis assigned a few new derogatory adjectives besides Sanctimonious, during primary debates. Those will become campaign Ads by democrats should DS win nomination. Trump is ahead of DS in all meaningful polls. DS has zero to none chance of winning nomination in 2024.
Those adjectives assigned to DS in 2024 campaign will be used by democrats in 2028 should DS become nominee in 2028. I think DS is smart to not jump in the ring with Trump. It is lose-lose for DS.
