Both STATE legislatures would have to approve Then the US congress. Democrats control Oregon. That’s why it should be brought up in ‘24. Methinks Howard Jarvis-like tax initiative would set it off.

Idaho gets another electoral vote in our favor.

Article 4, Clause 1: Admission of new states

New States may be admitted by the Congress into this Union; but no new States shall be formed or erected within the Jurisdiction of any other State; nor any State be formed by the Junction of two or more States, or parts of States, without the Consent of the Legislatures of the States concerned as well as of the Congress.

There is nothing in there about a part of one state breaking off a joining another. So there is nothing about needing US Congress approval or State legislatures from Oregon approving.

I believe Idaho already approved welcoming them.

But whatever, just do it already. Stop talking about and just do it. Make Biden try and stop you.
