We either need to cut some areas loose (start with where I live: New England) and end up with fewer than 50 states — or else we need to dice things up and have a lot more than 50 states: much of CA is Conservative. Greater Idaho sounds good. Texas could be three states at least. Heck, if you gerrymander New York state carefully you could probably create a new Conservative state there. Carefully carved up, Conservatives could wield a lot more power.

50 doesn’t work. I could see maybe 40 states. Or maybe 70 states. But the 50 we have right now has failed.

More local representation is the correct answer.

Texas can be 3-4, CA should be 6-7, New york and florida can be 2-3 each. Oregon and Washington should be split in two.
Nevada and Arizona should be two as well.

No state should have more then 10 electoral votes in my opinion.
