Why would you attempt to destroy an object possessing performance capability you don't understand and can't compete with?

Have you ever conducted a risk assessment or is your curiosity worth unbound risk?

They used to be wary of ever telling us we were ‘visited’ because of the panic and breakdown of society that would ensue.

Now, the bigger problem would be getting us to believe it in the first place. We don’t trust government, politicians - and especially journalists - at all anymore.

I have the feeling folks with this level of technology will not be easy targets to 'shoot down'. My uncle was an Air Force pilot in the 1950's - he saw one - 'played some games with it... maneuvers - and a few seconds later it took off at speeds that were 'impossible'.

We might have drones that are more illusion than mass now - but we didn't have that capability 65 - 70 years ago.

Because they are constantly invading our airspace and we need to know what they are and if the pose a risk to our national security. If they are Chinese, we need to know just how far behind we are.

That's misinformation.

The government has been hiding whatever it is it know about UFOs for over 75 years.

I'm not suggesting I know what they are (UFOs), but to suggest that this is something new in 2023 is blatantly dishonest.

What is your reason for that?

And when we miss and they perceive the aggression, followed by either defensive or retaliatory measures that we can’t cope with, then what?

Very true. And even more so for the military.

I think you are correct about their NOT being aliens from outer space. That has long gone out the window.

That said, there are scientists, like Garry Nolan (Immunologist of Stanford Medical) and Eric Weinstein (physicist, formerly of MIT, now gone private) and many others like them, top men in their fields, have joined the fray.

Their opinion: Whatever it is, it is something not yet understood...but it isn't human.

Why would they sit on this phenomenon for 50+ years and then suddenly change?

Exactly right.

What I'm hearing is that the military is losing control of the narrative. And on top of that, Congress realizes it has been kept in the dark too and, given that this matter appears to raise questions would national security, they are pissed about it

Thx for that account. I know people who have seen them too. Up close and personal.

Why would they sit on this phenomenon for 50+ years...

This has been going on for a lot more than 50 years.

Governments do not know what it is and governments cannot do anything about it. That last part is what they don't want people to know and the main reason for all the secrecy.

...and then [why] suddenly change?

A cynical move to distract people from economic crisis and the increasing failure of government to manage or control world affairs. The "elites" just are not as smart as they believe themselves to be.

Or maybe there has been some falling out between the Reptilian master race and their Earth-descended minions who rule over the rest of us. See the John Carpenter movie "They Live" for details. Stock up on your Hoffman lenses.

Numbers 1 & 2 are improbable but could be true;

Number 4 can be ruled out since these thing have been around for millennia.

That leaves number 3 as the most likely. There are many many anomalies that cannot bear close scrutiny.

There is also number 5. They are alien and the reason why we have been told so little for so long is because the aliens do not want it yet - at least 2 or more high placed individuals have said that’s the case.

'Governments do not know what it is and governments cannot do anything about it.'

I think that's about the size of it. I don't think all the things being seen represent the same phenomenon, there is probably a lot of different stuff going on. But I don't think governments have much clue about the 5% or so that has historically been really inexplicable.

” why didn’t the military use a drone (the RQ-4 Global Hawk has a 60,000+/- ft max altitude)? A drone could have relayed some clear photos back to base.”

The military got plenty of photos of the small northern objects from F-22s. The photos are classified like all sensor data from F-22s. Those objects were around 20,000 feet. Plus, the U2 vastly out climbs the Global Hawks and was used for the large balloon at 60,000 feet+, including the famous pic from above.

“I guess the sidewinders might have obliterated the evidence, but why would the military do that?”

Because they were ordered to.

“I’ve never read that we attempted to bring one down until the balloon fiasco.”

It depends what you mean by “we”. Foreign militaries, yes, as far back as WWII, according to folklore (probably true) relayed from the families of the deceased foreign pilots who encountered some sort of retaliatory action.

The point of my post was that there are things under consideration that aren’t little green men.

There are some on this forum who dismiss the entire topic as hogwash with derogatory, ignorant comments mocking those who think that there is something to it. I was just saying that to bring up aliens every time the topic comes up is disingenuous. It may not be aliens. There are very good reasons to believe the unexplained sightings are not aliens.

After following this topic for many decades I am of the belief that it isn’t any one thing. While I cannot go into any detail, I do know that some of the sightings are craft that we fly that we have not yet made public. I do know that we have methods of propulsion that are not common knowledge. It has been explained to me that not all of this advancement was, lets say, home grown. Again...not necessarily alien, just not developed in house.

The unidentified craft that have been sighted by our military as of late are not ours or those of rival nations. According to a well placed source there are videos and tracking information that have been shown to members of Congress that show beyond a shadow of a doubt that it is technology that defies currently understood laws of physics. Unfortunately the videos also show data collection abilities that we are not willing to admit to at this time, so they are not being shown to the public. It has been shared with me that the objects fly cold and do appear to be - for want of a better term - warping gravity as a means of propulsion. Our ability to detect that is one of the things that we aren’t willing to admit we can do.

All that to say...it’s complicated. Imagine, if you will, there is a civilization tens of thousands of years old keeping an eye on us AND at some point in the future we devise a way to be able to send probes back in time to monitor historical events AND under the right conditions, in the right locations, the borders between dimensions can be crossed and have been crossed. Why don’t all UAP look the same? Maybe because they don’t all come from the same place.
