A Villager was arrested after a brawl ignited by the disconnection of a computer from the internet.
Bryant Lynn Yarbrough, 74, of the Village of Sanibel was arrested after an altercation at about 5 p.m. Wednesday, according to an arrest report from the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office.
A woman said she had been checking her email and printing tickets on Yarbrough’s computer when he became impatient and disconnected the computer from the internet. The woman responded by calling the native Texan, “an ass,” the report said. He grabbed her by the wrists and shoved her.
The woman tried to call 911 from a landline in the home office where she had been using the computer.
“No, you’re not,” said Yarbrough, who stands 6 feet 1 inch tall and weighs 235 pounds.
The woman went to the kitchen and tried to use a phone there, but Yarbrough snatched it from her. She wound up using her cell phone to call 911.
He was arrested on charges of battery and depriving use of 911. He was booked at the Sumter County Detention Center and released after posting $7,000 bond.

I rather think it’s more like, ‘don’t share your computer.’
If I read it correctly, the first mistake he made was even allowing her to print/use his pc for any reason.

Familiar with The Villages, it was a mistake for Florida Woman to call a Native Texan out for being an “ass”. I have many friends in/from Texas, and after touring The Alamo several times, I understand that by DNA a native Texan is required to be an ass.
So she was in the wrong. Should have been charged with Trespassing. And go to the library to print your bingo tickets next time.

Villages sounding more and more like some kind of psycho sprawling suburban Stepford Wives. First the different colored swingers loofas for the insane number of golfcarts used for transportation there.
Back a few years the Villages weren’t as larges— and some informed person reported that sexually transmitted disease stats are the largest per capita in the US.. in the Villages old singles sleeping around giving everyone VD. But those were CDC stats so who knows.
“The Prisoner” tv series comes to mind. This is one navel watching living in a bubble “community” of old “As Good as it Gets” type people. Not a community at all but an anthill.
