I'm curious if the nukes Putin is threatening Europe with were made from American sourced uranium approved by the Obama / Biden Administration ?
Unlikely the Russians haven’t built anything that works since the fall of the USSR.
The deal was not about that anyway. It was a $100 million payoff to the Clintons/Bidens to buy their support for Russia. It is the explanation for why we haven’t sent jets, helicopters, or anything else that might help Ukraine actually win the war.
The rest of the story:
“Russia has the world’s largest uranium enrichment complex, accounting for almost half the global capacity, but it is a relatively small uranium producer with only six percent of the global supply in 2020. In fact, Russia mines less uranium than it exports to the United States and the EU—for instance, in 2020, it mined 2,800 tonnes while exporting 3,100 and 2,500 tonnes to the United States and the EU, respectively. This is possible because most of the uranium Russia exports is bought from Kazakhstan—a country that is landlocked and ships its uranium to Europe and the United States through Russia. Kazakhstan is the world’s largest uranium producer with 19,500 tonnes in 2020….”
Kazakhastan supplies Russia with all the uranium it needs, that said , Russia has vast reserves in Siberia. Uranium supply is much different than enrichment facilities, of which Russia has an abundance.
Well, turnabout is fair. US nuclear reactors were fueled with Russian warhead material. Yes, I mean that. Actual nuclear warheads were taken apart, dissolved, chemically combined and then the material sold off to international companies supplying nuclear fuel to US reactors. I oversaw one of these deals — which was a bit of a hoot.
What is the saying; swords into plowshares?
Thanks for the update on the sale of Uranium One, Wikipedia doesn’t reflect that. I found this interview from their CEO, interesting. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xrYZRIpVHq8
thanx for this info
