The move comes more than three months after the late-night stabbing spree.
University officials said the owner of the home where three of the students lived gave the building to the university.
Police have not released a motive for the suspect, who is awaiting trial, leaving many with unanswered questions.
Xana Kernodle, Ethan Chapin, Madison Mogen and Kaylee Goncalves were found dead inside the home on King Street in Moscow on 13 November.
On 30 December, a criminology student was arrested and charged with their murders and burglary. He is due to go trial in June. Prosecutors have yet to describe how the victims, who were found dead in their beds, were targeted.
University of Idaho President Scott Green said the decision to raze the building was made after its owner "offered to give the house to the university".

Good. The guy should plead guilty. They have DNA.
It’s for the best. Too much Evil embedded into the structure of that house. If I knew it was the same place, I wouldn’t wish to stay there for any length of time.
I may just be superstitious, but, Oh Well!
Can you blame them? The house will forever been known as the place where such a horrible and demented crime occurred, and on each anniversary of those students’ death, it would be highlighted once again. Maybe in a few years, another house can be built on the property, but the place will still draw attention from the crazies that are obsessed with crime stories.
It’s a shame that the property owner is going to have to take such a financial loss on rental property, that I’m sure was always rented out in advance, since it seemed to be the perfect type of college housing rental. I do not know if insurance will pay off for such as this, but the owner actually had very few options.
The plot should be used to build some kind of memorial, not another house.
Why is the owner in such a hurry to tear the house down?
There are lots of questions that still need to be answered. Not saying the accused is innocent, but what’s the hurry. Trial isn’t over. There may be evidence in the house that would benefit the defendant.
Or not.
The police have obviously released it back to the owner. It has zero value because it will never be able to be sold. I doubt the owner can rent it out anymore
Demolish and build something new
Makes sense

Charles Manson murder house sells for $1.9M
Lizzie Borden murder house sells for $2M
Murdaugh family murder farm now on sale for $3.9M
Serial killer Joseph Kallinger’s murder house sells for $587,500
Dr. Harold N. Perelson Murder House Sells for Nearly $2.3M
Phil Spector’s Murser House Sells for $3.3M
Yep, that’s what I was thinking.
It’s kinda sick, but, notoriety played well can make a lot of money.
Granted that the owner might want NO part of that. I can understand that.
After that Georgia grand jury forething gets done with her paid media tour, she should have more than enough money to buy the thing.....blood stains and all.
