It think the Canadian “expert” is very late to the party. We've been trapping Feral Pigs for 35 years. I've made a lot of whole hog sausage, never cured bacon.
We have meat processing facility at farm. (non commercial)
He is right about how invasive they are, but ours did not come from Canada.
It is so hard to control the growth of numbers of these cross bred hogs, that in Texas it is perfectly legal to hunt them from helicopter. I've seen that in action.
We have 4 nice traps on our farms that we occasionally set, hogs are very smart.

We should gather a few hundred sows and a dozen or so males and release them in North Korea. That’s a win/win as the peasants begin to get a decent amount of protein in their diet. And it would distract Sum Yung Fatboy from his rocket fascination.

OMG! Coming in from Canada! I hope they don’t inbreed with the wild Razorback hogs imported by the Spanish in the 1500s!
Unfortunately the wild hogs here are infected with Psudo-rabies and are left to rot after being shot.
