Elon Musk Trolls the Woke Left

After purchasing Twitter last fall and declaring a new era of free speech on the platform, trailblazing entrepreneur Elon Musk suddenly went from one of the most celebrated to one of the most hated figures by the cultural left. But rather than backing down, Musk has continued delivering one hilarious tweet after another exposing the ridiculousness and hypocrisy of his detractors.

Here are a just a few highlights of Musk’s Twitter prowess to add some laughter to your day.

The Return of Comedy

Soon after officially taking over as Twitter’s top man, Musk posted “Comedy is now legal on Twitter.” The quip clearly resonated with users weary of the platform’s oppressive political correctness regime, garnering 2.3 million likes and nearly 250,000 retweets. It also enraged liberals, who insisted that “comedy” was paramount to “fascism” and a host of other left-wing bogeymen.

Wasn’t Twitter Supposed to Die?

Following Musk’s first round of layoffs and policies ridding the company of wokeness in early November of 2022, the media establishment mobilized to breathlessly predict that Twitter would collapse in a matter of days. “Twitter death watch captivates millions,” The Washington Post reported on November 18.

But it soon became clear that those prophesies of doom were little more than the wishful thinking of a liberal establishment furious that it no longer controlled speech on the platform. Musk released a tweet following the uneventful passing of Twitter’s alleged “final hour” mocking the media, asking,“Wasn’t Twitter supposed to die by now or something…?”

Political Compass Meme

In one of his most viral tweets to date, posted just two weeks after he initiated his acquisition of Twitter, Musk shared a meme poking fun at liberals’ lurch to the extreme left in the 2010s. In three diagrams—showing the political climate in 2008, 2012, and 2021—the meme outlines Musk’s shift from a center-left moderate in 2008 to someone with center-right beliefs in the 2020s. In each of the diagrams, Musk (a stick figure labeled “me”) and the “conservative” figure remain stationary, while the figure on the “left” moves incrementally further away from the center, going so far as to label Musk as a “bigot” in 2021. The meme demonstrates the extent to which Americans in the political center have felt increasingly alienated by the growing extremism of the left.

Naturally, Musk’s acknowledgement of this political realignment infuriated many on the left – not least because it called attention to Americans’ disillusionment with the left’s increasing radicalism.

“My Pronouns are Prosecute/Fauci”

In a December 2022 tweet, Elon Musk posted five words that took Twitter by storm and delivered a double blow to leftists everywhere. “My pronouns are Prosecute/Fauci,” Musk tweeted, mocking the left’s obsession with “preferred pronouns” and sharing his frustration with Dr. Anthony Fauci’s track record of corruption relating to his handling of the COVID-19 pandemic. The tweet garnered 1.2 million likes and even caught the attention of the Biden White House, which derided Musk’s comment as “disgusting”—a clear sign that the tweet was effective.

“Party of Division & Hate”

In a tweet that garnered more than 800,000 likes and 116,000 retweets, Musk announced in May 2022 that Democrats “have become the party of division and hate” and that he now would be voting Republican. He further told readers to “watch their dirty tricks campaign against me unfold,” adding a popcorn emoji.

Just as Musk predicted, the post enraged the liberal establishment – after all, it is Republicans whom Democrats insist are the party of “division and hate.” A follow-up tweet from Musk one day later read, “judging by the relentless hatestream from the left, this tweet was spot on.” Musk had perfectly baited the left into exposing themselves to be exactly what he accused them of.

Brainwashing Meme

Last December, Musk posted yet another viral meme with an image of two figures—one bearing an American flag, and the other brandishing an obnoxious array of left-wing symbols including a rainbow flag, Black Lives Matter logo, communist hammer and sickle, and a face mask with five COVID vaccine syringes injected into his arms. “They brainwashed you,” the left-wing figure insists to the flagbearer. “Really?” responds the other figure, highlighting the rapid normalization of radical left-wing ideas that once would have been laughable. Like many of his other contentious tweets, this meme sent the liberal blue checks on Twitter into a fit of rage—only adding to the hilariousness for conservatives.

Mocking “Stay Woke” T-Shirts

Shortly after his purchase of Twitter, Musk posted a video displaying dozens of t-shirts stashed away at Twitter headquarters with the hash-tagged phrase “Stay Woke.” The revelation both infuriated the legions of left-wing former Twitter employees Musk fired when he took the reins at Twitter and, more importantly, proved beyond any doubt that the platform was, in fact, a left-wing cesspool. By posting a video of the t-shirts, Musk proved that he is unintimidated by the forces hellbent on tearing him down and continuing to silence conservatives and other free thinkers.

In his tenure thus far as Twitter CEO, Musk has proved that levity and wit are powerful tools in the battle against the woke left. While logic and reason are vital methods to dismantle progressive’s grip on the culture, winning over hearts and minds often starts with a healthy dose of humor.

Having fun is what life is all about. Money is secondary and perhaps even tertiary.

It’s just a number to him. He has so many billions that it doesn’t matter.

One time someone tweeted that Musk was actually an alien from outer space. He merely tweeted back, “Busted.”

I think I get it now.

Owning Twitter is Musk's hobby. An expensive hobby, but he can afford it.
And he obviously loves the notoriety.

Furthermore, unlike owning a yacht (or The Washington Post like Bezos),
maybe he'll make money with it.

If he succeeds in turning it into an all in one platform like he has discussed with video files, payment processing, etc etc, he may well rake in yet another huge pile of cash.

I think he found himself a nice hobby to take the stress out of trying to be God of Mars.

I’ve been active on twitter since 2009, 14 years.

Musk shut down the Troll factory and things really improved for a few weeks.

Now, the censorship is worse than ever for me, my analytics are a total lie. For years I averaged 250-450,000 impressions a month. So far this month, I show 1 tweet.

I am certain the filtering is done outside of Twitter. Likely culprits? Some of the State Department staff, FBI staff, CIA staff and HHS staff. Yes, our government is the filter vector.

No, I am not making this up.
