2024: Is The Time Ripe For Another Contract?

With an eye toward winning back the House and Senate in the 2022 midterm elections, former President Donald Trump has begun crafting a policy agenda outlining a MAGA doctrine for the party. His template is the 1994 “Contract with America,” a legislative agenda released ahead of the midterm elections in the middle of President Bill Clinton’s first term. And, as a cherry on top, he’s teaming up with its main architect — Gingrich — to do it.

My friends too soon to back to the well? The stars are aligning. Trump is a man of contracts and he gets attention when he speaks. Add to that the # of senate seats the democrats are going to have to defend. If the next contract can appeal to millennial issues we just might be able to keep them. Think Ukraine and the border costs. Think corporate America's running the government leaving the little guy out, something the rats seem to have a hold on. I'm just saying go for broke.

One of those senate seats that are up in ‘24 is in Pennsylvania. Could there be 2? Think about it.

It’s time for another party. Trump will have less success than his first try if he is elected. Also, given Dem election control, it’s very doubtful he’ll be elected. Our election system is compromised and once again most Republicans are complicit in allowing that to continue.

Doesn’t matter if the elections are stolen.

Good gracious YES! A contract is exactly what is called for right now because there is a tremendous amount of uncertainty out there being leveraged by people with narrow agendas. If those narrow agendas are what you intend to do, then a contract will put it in context and allow people to make informed decisions.

Republicans propose ideas that are largely financial. They need to be talking about the Bill of Rights, God, and the nuclear family.

Let’s see. 5 or 6 items, not 10 like it was the last time. Think attention spans of the electorate. Cut entire departments and promise a rebate to the taxpayers for the amount cut. Look at gas prices. Food. Too many money issues DIRECTLY affecting consumers. Promise a health care plan that includes EVERYBODY. It’s doable. Mandatory 401k’s where people can watch their accounts grow starting $1k gift at birth. We can grab the left by the short hairs if we use our heads.

Gotta admit it starts with election integrity. We’ve got 18 months to fix it.

Have it locked in and tested (quietly) with the voters for Sept release as we are all positioning billion dollar efforts on the health of two 70+ year olds. I would expect Gingrich has 2023 version out to his cast of greyberds now. Sell it to the Conservative Media on deep background, get a few to commit to writing the books on the subjects within.

To be clear For half the voters they are awaiting “inditement watch 2024” results until at least Aug. 3/4 of the swing voters have been through 6 years of no inditements, not all are meatheads, and more are pissed because of the things at the PTA meetings. We know no democrat prosecutor can step in front of that freight train without major damage. The Attorney General of the United States on the other hand is a full on Scorned woman polticaly, and will do anything to protect the politicization of the DOJ, with communists, trannies, race baiters running the show. The most interesting month will still be Iowa, see if trump still has “big retail politics enegy” and if sleepy joe will get out of bed more than twice a week.

Exactly. As long is the GOP remains in cowed denial about election theft, it doesn’t much matter who runs or how much support they get.

I’m not saying there isn’t cheating, but the bigger problem is just the sheer amount of stupid people there are, no thanks to our education system. Elections can be fixed, stupid people can’t.

*They need to be talking about the Bill of Rights, God, and the nuclear family.* Wrong. Nuclear families are declining. Rights are too intellectual-think young attention spans. God-it’s too late.

A wave going our way could get us 3 senate seats. Think WV., Montana and the big fish Ohio, where incumbency will counter a more-red state. Think a majority with fewer McCains and Romneys.

I think most federal welfare programs [everything but Medicare, old age Social Security, PPACA subsidies, non-refundable Child/Earned Income Credit amounts] should be replaced by block grants to the states based half on their population and half on their persons’ net income tax contributions to the US Treasury (so expensive to live in states like California and Massachusetts get somewhat more money per person).

This would allow California to more effectively deal with homelessness and give states great incentive to reduce hospital costs.

The population based amounts would change based on the CPI.

Except they're not in denial. They fully endorse it because it helps them get rid of their enemies (Trump) as well.

The time to change is now, not 2024 or 2025.

"Elections can be fixed, stupid people can’t."

Yeah, the pandemic pushed Obama's fundamental transformation of America over the finish line. Work and merit are now condemned. Abnormal behavior rewarded. The needle has moved from center right to center left. Government is now the solution rather than problem. A new contract with America is preaching to the conservative choir. It would win few converts in the Church of Big Government.

“Bill of Rights”

job of the Supreme Court

“God”

The Almighty has pointed out the right way long ago.

“the nuclear family”

People have to make their own arrangements, but government incentives should not undermine family life.

A contract would force the Democrats to debate policy instead of just being in character assassination mode all the time. To work, though, it has to address social security and abortion along with woke everything and crime.

I hope Trump doesn’t embarrass himself by saying he’s going to build a border wall.

Lindsay Graham is involved with this. Sigh.
