In the tenth and first part of the eleventh century the students of Oxford were known for being unruly rich kids with a tendency to riot. Because Oxford was a religious university all the students were considered clergy of a sort. So the king, the local government and the church all protected the dear little mites from any sort of punishment.

This lasted until the towns people of Oxford had had enough of this. The result was "suspendium clericorium" where the town got together and hanged a few of the trouble makers.

Things became much quieter and the University of Cambridge was founded for families who actually wanted their sons to study rather then party down.

This is the Oxford Solution.

Ah, thank you. Public hangings are a wonderful remedy, they are needed today and would promote the peaceful coexistence.
