I have lived in any number of places around the world and in most of them you needed to have someone in residence in your home at all times.

Spent a lot of time in the Turd World, apparenly.

I guess that Americans are going to have to learn to do this as well.

Alternatively, we could quit importing Turd Worlders, quit paying baby-mamas to spawn feral yoots, and put a lot of feral yoots in prison for a long time. And throat-punch the evil freaks who whine about "racism".

I remember being a little shocked when I came back and saw all the houses with no bars and few fences.

It felt very safe.

It is not any more.

And while your suggestions would help the problem there has been a shift in the cultural mind set to the point that it would not solve it.

Proper parenting would solve the problem but the number of people who are of parenting age who would actually teach their kids to keep their hands off of other people's stuff is a distinct minority.
