Feb. 17 (UPI) -- Liam Neeson thinks the many Star Wars spinoff series are "diluting" the franchise.
The 70-year-old actor discussed the possibility of starring in a Star Wars spinoff about his character Qui-Gon Jinn during Thursday's episode of Watch What Happens Live.
Neeson played Qui-Gon in Star Wars: Episode I -- The Phantom Menace (1999) and recently appeared as the character in the Disney+ series Obi-Wan Kenobi starring Ewan McGregor.
On WWHL, Neeson was asked if he is interested in his own spinoff.
"No, I'm not. There's so many spinoffs of Star Wars. It's diluting it, to me, and it's taken away the mystery and the magic, in a weird way," the actor explained.
"It was nice to do the little bit with Ewan after 25 years, 24 years," he said. "I appeared in the last episode -- had three lines to say, two lines, and that was cool. I loved doing that. That's it."

If only other famous actors would confine their public statements to this sort of subject matter.
The franchise was diluted the moment Jar Jar Binks showed up.
It was pretty dilute by the time Liam go to it!
Not even Jar Jar is comparable to the Disney trilogy.
Every one of them after the original Star Wars, should have just been called, “Star Wars - The Search For More Money”
**Every one of them after the original Star Wars, should have just been called, “Star Wars - The Search For More Money”**
Exactly. Saw the first way back in 77, twice. (2nd time with my gearhead buds that hadn’t seen it and wanted me to come along. I was better able to see how cheap the props were, and pointed it out at times. They got tired of my comments and said to knock it off or go wait in the car.)
Never went back. The chicks I dated just weren’t interested by it. 6 months later I met my wife. Same opinion.
I stopped watching after the first three. I’m glad I did. The rest are all bullsh*t for the 20 somethings without a life and a Star Wars costume.
he doesn’t- he is a anti-gun grabbing -
i meant to say
he doesn’t stick to benign topics though- he is a anti-gun grabbing liberal-
You lost me right there.
Long before that; the Star Wars "Holiday Special" was in 1978.
The movie franchise become a clown show with the Ewoks in the third one as well as the soap opera of Darth Vader being Luke's father and Princess Leia being his sister.
Viewers can't accept that it was one and done.
The only good thing that came out of it after the first one was “Space Balls”.
Yeah, everything that came after is "Spaceballs 2: The Search For More Money".
“Moichandising! Moichandising! Where the real money from the movie is made!”
for some odd reason- liberals want a society just like that- gunless and at the mercy of the elites-
Disney paid $4 billion for Lucasfilm. Now it’s determined to squeeze every penny out of its investment.
