us too- the whole set of Britannica- which i read a lot of as we hardly even had TV with our roof antennae which always get out of whack if the wind blew which was often- Heck, i even read a lot of the dictionary lol

I was in the first calculator generation. I bought my first scientific calculator when I was about 11. Just a couple years older and I would know how to use a slide rule. As it is I still learned log tables though they were becoming a memory by then.

Neither of my dear parents went to college; but they bought my sibs and I not one, but two encyclopedias, and subscribed to an educational book series for us. We were not allowed to even read Classic Comics. They drove us to the local library every week. God bless them where they are.
