Some of the most memorable moments in Chicago football history have been played in snow, wind, cold and fog, but Bears quarterback Justin Fields hopes that all comes to an end.
Fields said on Pardon My Take that the weather in Chicago makes his job much more difficult, and he’d rather play indoors.

I’d rather see the Packers disbanded and never to play as a team again under the Packers logo than a dome over Lambeau Field. Domes are anti football, if it’s to hot, the move the season back a couple of weeks, too wet or windy, deal with it, the weather is the same for both teams on the field.
Just waiting to see how much money they can squeeze from taxpayers.
Sept.-SF would have beaten the Bears if the game were indoors so there’s something to be said about the better team winning. An antiseptic world. I dunno. I’d rather be outdoors where other peoples germs wouldn’t affect me. Justin Fields just may be too lazy to want to deal with the elements. Aaron Rogers? Vince Lombardi said the elements are part of the game. Opinions vs. money. Guess who comes out ahead?
I love watching games played in snow or rain. It takes more grit to win.
It’s really crazy that the wind, ice and snow at Soldier Field only negatively impacts the Bears and never the visiting team..
*Just waiting to see how much money they can squeeze from taxpayers.* BINGO!
*Domes are anti football, if it’s to hot, the move the season back a couple of weeks, too wet or windy, deal with it, the weather is the same for both teams on the field.*
When there is a struggle between the traditionalists and the progressives ultimately the progressives will prevail. Think conservatism and the slippery slope we’re up against.
As for moving the season back a couple of weeks-now. Summer viewers are fewer. Rotten weather in winter can be fixed. Domes anyone? Would Kari Lake take on the NFL and it’s sacred cows?
If they want better stadiums then have the players and owners pony up for them. Or, sell stock in the team and let fans decide if they want to invest. I have no desire to have a single nickel of what I’ve worked for go to some sports team.
Fields played for Ohio State for several years. Did he not notice the weather there? I don’t think it’s significantly different than Chicago’s, though it is pretty different from Georgia weather.
The Superbowl game was degraded because it was played on sod that had not yet taken root. That is so preposterous.
I don’t know where all the money for salaries and stadiums is coming from. Who wants to spend that much to deal with traffic and crowds to watch a game?
Buffalo/NY State is about to build a $1.6 billion new stadium for the Bills - it will not have a dome.
Ultimately the struggle is between effeminacy and masculinity. The former always, or nearly always, seems to prevail at this point.
Artificial turf?
He may be on his way to Indy in a pre-draft trade. Roof in place.
My only problem with the Bears getting a new stadium is that Pritzger will raise our taxes to pay for it.
If the Bears want it, let the Bears pay for it.
And I’m a lifelong Bears fan.
I agree. Today’s football players are turning into well-muscled, well PAID primadonnas.
They know what they signed up for…
Sounds like he should go play for one of those wussie teams.
Wonder why the Vikings haven’t been back to a Super Bowl since they moved indoors?
