The Last of Us actress Bella Ramsey recently told viewers to avoid watching the show if they are not comfortable with viewing sinful acts of grave depravity.
Ramsey spoke with GQ Magazine, where she revealed the show will feature a plethora of acts of grave depravity going forward.
She told the outlet, “I know people will think what they want to think. But they’re gonna have to get used to it. If you don’t want to watch the show because it has gay storylines, because it has a trans character, that’s on you, and you’re missing out.”
“It isn’t gonna make me afraid. I think that comes from a place of defiance,” she added.
Ramsey’s comments come after the show’s third episode debuted and was heavily criticized. YouTuber Synthetic Man described the episode as Brokeback Mountain.
He explained, “We got 15 minutes of two middle-aged gay dudes falling in love and there’s an extended kissing scene. And they even get married. It is just the weirdest, bizarre, out of left field s**t that is completely irrelevant to the overall plot.”
As for Ramsey’s claim that you are missing out, it’s clearly not anything good that you are missing out on. You are actively avoiding sin and the proliferation of it.
The Catechism of the Catholic Church notes, “Basing itself on Sacred Scripture, which presents homosexual acts as acts of grave depravity, tradition has always declared that ‘homosexual acts are intrinsically disordered. They are contrary to the natural law. They close the sexual act to the gift of life. They do not proceed from a genuine affective and sexual complementarity. Under no circumstances can they be approved.”
In fact, the Catechism also asserts that sodomy is one of the sins that cries to heaven. “The catechetical tradition also recalls that there are ‘sins that cry to heaven’: the blood of Abel, the sin of the Sodomites, the cry of the people oppressed in Egypt, the cry of the foreigner, the widow, and the orphan, injustice to the wage earner.”
To reiterate, by avoiding this show you are actually avoiding sin and the proliferation of it. You are actively rejecting the evil that the show is trying to perpetuate.
St. Pope John Paul II in his Message for the 29th World Communications Day also instructed, “As happens with all the media of social communication, the cinema, as well as having the power and the great merit of contributing to the cultural and human growth of the individual, can oppress freedom—particularly of the most weak—when it distorts the truth and when it presents itself as the mirror of negative types of behavior, using scenes of violence and sex offensive to human dignity and ‘tending to excite violent emotions to stimulate the attention’ of the viewer.”
“The attitude of those who irresponsibly bring about degrading imitative behavior whose harmful effects can be read about each day in the pages of the newspapers cannot be defined as free artistic expression. As the Gospel reminds us, only in the Truth are we made free,” he declared.
In 2004, St. Pope John Paul II would also state, “People grow or diminish in moral stature by the words which they speak and the messages which they choose to hear. Consequently, wisdom and discernment in the use of the media are particularly called for on the part of communications professionals, parents and educators, for their decisions greatly affect children and young people for whom they are responsible, and who are ultimately the future of society.”
He later added, “It is not so easy to resist commercial pressures or the demands of conformity to secular ideologies, but that is what responsible communicators must do. The stakes are high, since every attack on the fundamental value of the family is an attack on the true good of humanity.”
Same here.
Plus, for a romantic like me, lots of sweet, funny love stories without all the gratuitous bedroom antics.
It is here to stay, I’m afraid. I just wish the scenes looked natural...guess I’m not use to it
I started watching the series on suggestion from another.
Both of us were shocked at the gay episode, which was totally unnecessary to the storyline. I’ve since looked into Naughty Dog, the game developer behind the game on which the show is based (unknown game to me prior).
I believe the game developer is staffed with Acrosexual activists and that it’s just another extension of the grooming efforts of the perverts.
Needless to say, I won’t be seeing any more of the series.
You forgot to mention the rape and incest scenes any particular reason or that doesn’t bother you but homosexuals do
I will say the women on those Turkish shows are hot.
“Band of Brothers” and :From The Earth to the Moon” are worth watching and rewatching on DVD.
.
"Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil;
Who put darkness for light, and light for darkness;
Who put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!"
Isaiah 5:20
That they do, as does all streaming services. They know exactly what scenes viewers are skipping through (and which scenes get re-watched).
But I'm thinking these gratitutious homosexual scenes are inserted into TV scripts as a sop to the LBGT crowd, that infests Hollywood.
The thing is, they don’t care. Just look how they’ve managed to indoctrinate people over the years, they see it as a “cost of doing business”.
“It isn’t gonna make me afraid. I think that comes from a place of defiance,” she added.
From a place of defiance that leads to a place of destruction: "For many walk, of whom I have told you often and now tell you even with weeping, as the enemies of the cross of Christ. Their end is destruction, their God is their belly, and their glory is in their shame[.]" Phillipians 3:18-20 Bon voyage, babe.
I didn't forget to mention them, I chose not to mention them because they fall into the same probability category as beheadings.
Rape is illegal, and we have a system in place to supposedly stop that to the extent we are able. Incest already has a very strong social revulsion in our society, and I see no danger of that being changed by showing fictional examples of it.
Homosexuality on the other hand, has been pushed and pushed and pushed and pushed by the creators of this content as "normal", and they are trying to propagandize people into accepting it as normal.
They are not trying to make rape or incest appear normal. It is still portrayed as deviant and wrong.
The show takes place in an Apocalypse, what do you think is going on in that situation, when no laws exist all sorts of depravity will take place.
Don’t watch the show if it offends you.
The attempt to program Americans into accepting homosexuality as normal is occurring in the real world. They are using fiction to do it, but their goal is a real world goal.
In an actual apocalypse, I very greatly doubt homosexuality would even be a factor. People going through struggles to live tend to grow more sane, not less.
Don’t watch the show if it offends you.
I see this advice often and I am reminded of the Jews in 1930s Germany. Hitler would give these rabid speeches on the radio where he denounced the Jews and said horrible things about them.
Telling the Jews not to listen to his speeches inciting hatred against them would have been pointless, because the damage was being caused by *OTHER PEOPLE* listening to Hitler's speeches.
So too is the damage being done by "The Last of Us" from spreading this poison into the minds of other people in our society.
I reject your advice, and I would ask you that if this were a case of people preaching hatred of Christians, would you advise us not to listen to it, and take no action to prevent it's spread?
I think this is a naive way to look at the problem.
My advice is ignore it, homosexuals and gay marriage are never going away so either deal with it or drive yourself crazy
I can only control myself and what I expose myself to and don’t worry about things I can’t control.
I think it is going away, but not likely soon. So many people think they are breaking new ground, but this stuff has happened before in our history. Nature always reasserts itself eventually.
I can only control myself and what I expose myself to and don’t worry about things I can’t control.
No individual could stop the Nazis. It took a concerted effort by many individuals to do it.
This is the same.
The first thing we do is not give them any money by watching their propaganda.
I'm not going to watch, and I encourage others to do the same.
Eventually it will go away when the rapture starts which I believe in, until then it will be here and there is zero I can do about it, I choose to live life hopeful not consumed with issues that don’t personally affect me
