Little trivia: my grandfather flew for the Germans in WWI and helped start Lufthansa. He was stripped of rights for obvious reasons , but fellow pilots effectively smuggled him to Argentina, having him pretend to be part of a flight crew.
Wow. My grandfather was a US Army pilot in WW 1. He flew a Curtis Jenny making maps of the german trenches. Survived 3 plane crashes.
