You can also make French toast with mayo.
I’ve never heard of this, sounds good.
Hellman’s is eggcellent, though I sometimes get a local product from the Mennonite farm near the river.
They have everything except sardines...
Kinda hard to grow sardines without an ocean........................
It’s only Hellmann’s east of the Rockies. Here in the West it’s Best Foods.
I know, but I don’t know why.
Was there a ‘Hellman’s’ already on the market so they couldn’t use the name?
Like ‘Budweiser’ in Germany can’t use their own name because there was already one there for hundreds of years.....................
My mom taught me that. Hellman’s only. 😋
C’mon man, it’s black cheddar month.
Yall wanna really get really weird? Peanut butter, cheese, bacon and dill pickle sammiches. Yeah
. One chomp and you are hooked for life. Fried like I described.
Peanut butter and cheese I have done before. Not bad...................
Oh, I will so try that.
My siblings and I used to date each other to try weird stuff when we were kids. My sister once dared me to make and eat a peanut butter and dill pickle sandwich.
I did it and *loved* it. Made them again on several occasions.
Bacon, cheese and dill pickle sandwiches I have had many times, as well!.....................
Hellmann’s mayo was introduced out East by a German immigrant and was hugely popular. Later, the Postum Co. introduced their own mayo out West called Best Foods. Postum bought out Hellmann’s, allowing Herr Hellmann to retire. Both brands were so popular and well-known in their respective regions that Postum Co. opted to keep both names. Postum changed its name to Best Foods, then was bought out by Corn Products Co., which changed its name to CPC Int’l, then to Bestfoods. Thru it all, Best Foods mayo and Hellmann’s “east of the Rockies” retained their respective names. Only the labels were changed to become identical except for the names.
Thanks for that info!
Might come in handy in a Trivial Pursuit game!
Do people still play that?
I used to be fairly good at it.................
I have that, without the Special Reserve, in my cheese drawer now.
