Friends, family of ‘anarchist’ Oakland baker killed in robbery gone wrong don’t want jail time for thieves
A woke California baker was savagely killed during a robbery this week — and her family and friends are urging authorities not to jail her assailants to align with her social justice beliefs.
The startling plea came after Angel Cakes owner Jen Angel was robbed by two thieves who smashed her car window and ran off with her purse near a Wells Fargo in Uptown Oakland Monday afternoon, the San Franciso Chronicle reported.
Angel, 48, chased after the duo’s getaway car, but got caught in the vehicle’s door and was dragged more the 50 feet, smashing her head on the sidewalk. She was put in a medically induced coma and declared dead Thursday.
“As a long-time social movement activist and anarchist, Jen did not believe in state violence, carceral punishment or incarceration as an effective or just solution to social violence and inequity,” her loved ones wrote on a GoFundMe page set up in the wake of the attack.

What her family and friends want should not be relevant at any point until the sentencing phase, when they can make their pleas and hopefully, for the good of the community, be ignored.

No, just psycho liberals...who now mostly have power over us because many of us prefer to sit out November elections, rather than vote for Republicans who don’t meet their ‘purity test’.
But a question for them: When these two killers, who look like Oakland, kill again, maybe killing a young child, will her family and friends feel any guilt for that death? Answer: They’ll find others to blame, yet again.

It is a shame this lady is dead. She didn’t have to die, only follow her anarchist beliefs.

Yes, that was a little inconsistent. Maybe she’d have given them her money and credit cards, but she wanted her driver’s license because the DMV is such a pain.
The criminals need to be jailed and probably executed. The “friends and family” are also a danger to the public.
