Four students have been charged in a New Jersey school hallway attack on a classmate who killed herself days later, prosecutors said.
One was charged with aggravated assault, another with harassment and two others with conspiracy to commit aggravated assault, Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer said in a statement Friday.
Their names have not been released. NBC News does not usually name minors charged with a crime, even those charged as adults.
"Each juvenile and their guardian was served with a copy of their complaint and are released pending future court appearances," Billhimer said.
The prosecutor's announcement is the latest development in a case that has garnered national attention after video of the Feb. 1 attack at Central Regional High School in Berkeley Township was posted online.
Adriana Kuch, 14, was found dead in her Bayville home on Feb. 3. The four students involved in the assault have been suspended, Central Regional School District Superintendent Triantafillos Parlapanides said.
Adriana's father, Michael Kuch, said in Facebook posts and to NBC New York that several students attacked his daughter while walking with her boyfriend in the hallway.
He wrote on Facebook that a video of the fight was posted online and Adriana, a freshman, had been tagged in it. He said he believes it was posted to "make fun of her online."

I believe that assessment is overly optimistic.
In a civil suit, the father will never collect anything but lawyers' bills. Even if the father wins (doubtful) the defendants will not have any money to pay up. They are "judgement proof".
The criminal proceedings might sanction the girls directly involved with the assault. I don't expect much will come of it. It will amount to a plea-bargain misdemeanor conviction and a wrist slap of a sentence.
Black assailants, White victim, Liberal District Attorney. We have seen how this scenario plays out way too many times already.
Time for some changes. A full-court press with "Hate Crime" charges added to the Assault charges, and jury selection that effectively excludes Blacks would be a good start.
Yes, I know that last item is bad, but put even one Black on that jury and you are pretty much guaranteed to get an acquittal or mistrial. Which is why the DA will probably offer a plea bargain instead of pressing for a trial.
Racism is an ugly thing that is not just limited to Whites. It is rampant in Black communities, Hispanic communities (and that is not even a race), Chinese communities, and just about every other ethnic group you can name.

The problem is, and more so with the schools, the only way to send a message to them is to f*** with their money supply. That is the only thing they understand. You hurt them there and you got them. Sorry it has to be that way but that is the way it is. So yes the father has to sue them because that is the only way to get justice.

Speaking as one who has been misclassified as a "neo-nazi" too many times in the past: I will not be disappointed if the attackers are classified as "White".
White-on-White crimes have a reasonable chance of prosecution with a just verdict.
Black-on-White crimes get softball treatment. It seems that it would be "raaacisst" to prosecute such crimes, or even admit that they happened.

It is when you cross racial and ethnic boundaries that things go to hell in a hurry. Rule of law deteriorates into pretense of law all too often.
It is a bad situation that needs to change. But it is getting worse, not better. One must adapt to how things are rather than how things should be.
