“...where three people were found deceased and suffering from gunshot wounds, Essex District Attorney Paul F. Tucker told reporters at the scene. .....”
wow...today’s journalism at its finest...!! LOL, I had the same thoughts...they are dead but still suffering from gunshot wounds...and I question the use of the word “wounds” as well....no, you are not being picky...just very observant....
I'm not a doctor, and don't play one on Television.
But as a fat old (69 yr's) welder, who still takes on jobs, I'd say what we have here is premature ejaculation.
The democRAT leftist gorilla masquerading as a journalist, knows what it would take to do a proper constitutional amendment, so as to do away with the 2nd amendment.
But in their small minded world, they think if I can write / convey a GREAT STORY, (i.e. a good line of Bravo Sierra= Bull Droppings',) I / we shall overcome.
Occam's razor shout's out my thought's on the subject of these so called democRAT's Leftist with a byline.
"Suffer" can be used as a transitive or intransitive verb. One definition for "suffer" which is older, fading away, but not yet extinct is, "to undergo or experience," and I think that's the way it was intended here. IOW, "...three people were found dead, having experienced/sustained (i.e. "suffering") gunshot wounds.
Just my $0.02. That's the way I read it. It does sound awkward, but IMHO, not because it's incorrect, but a somewhat older, more formal usage.
