Disney in the sixties negotiated the sweetest deal ever with the state - they were able to create a closed-loop system; Disney was self-governing in Florida. Yes, they had services like fire and police but they paid for them. In addition, they had authority to build an airport, a nuclear power plant, eminent domain, just about anything they could think of at the time.
Disney got so big and arrogant they decided last year to publicly threaten the Governor and legislature. That might have ended well for Disney elsewhere but not in Florida while DeSantis is governor.
Going forward, Governor appointed commissioners will study Disney's request for building permits to re-plumb bathhouses and unisex bathrooms.
Those permits may take awhile.
Yeah, I’m aware of that but I’m not sure I really agree with the government going after companies in a vindictive way. It just goes against my principles.
