A number of Americans have been caught with firearms at Cancun International Airport over the last year, but the most recent case involves a well-known American NASCAR driver. Kyle Busch, a champion race car driver, was caught with a .38 caliber handgun and hollow tip ammunition in his luggage at Cancun Airport. He was quickly arrested following the discovery.

**Mr. Busch says that he had forgotten the firearm was in his bag and never had any intention of bringing it into Mexico.**
If he’s telling the truth, he’s pretty sloppy with his firearm awareness.
If a lie, he’s portraying himself as being pretty sloppy with his firearm awareness.
“That is how Mexico works.”
True. Had a cousin imprisoned in Mexico City for counterfeiting in 1970. He was indeed guilty of the crime and sentenced to 10 years. My uncle and father went down to Mexico City and paid the DA $30K in cash and 3 days later my cousin was in San Ysidro waiting for my uncle to pick him up.
No

“I didn’t know Mexican law ...”
What a dope.
He went full Barry Switzer.
NASCAR flies their own planes. Each racing team has a couple. They do not travel thru any inspecting agency.
...in addition to giving them the revolver.

NASCAR suspends driver Kurt Busch over domestic violence allegations

Kyle is Kurt’s brother- They should know that they are under a microscope al the time- in kyle’s case though, supposedly new info has come forward disputing the ex girlfriend’s claims- The female judge though likely won’t budge=-
I have heard that, if you have money, living in a Mexican prison is not too bad.
We’ve got Busch.
I’m sure getting out of jail and back to North Carolina cost more than the $1,100 fine. A lot more.
My favorite line,
“For a nation of pigs, it sure’s funny you don’t eat ‘em.”
I heard Oliver Stone eventually apologized to the Turks for writing the script.
All in all, Kyle would have been in much more trouble had the U.S. TSA found the firearm rather than the "$5,000 and this all goes away, Mr. Busch" Mexican Federales.
that article is from 2015...

LOL! Oliver, never apologize for a line as clever as that.
(butt-slammed)
It was $1100 and 3 years in a Mexican prison. If you want to skip the prison part, it’s going to cost you a lot more than the $1100;
Speaking of which, it used to cost at least $10,000 to walk if one got caught with a gun at Love Field in Dallas.
LMAO!
