Vladimir Putin’s “mistress” has saluted his war propagandists who regularly threaten nuclear war as being as important as Kalashnikov machine guns.
Russians are engaged in a “fight for our country” almost a year after his disastrous invasion of Ukraine, warned Alina Kabaeva, 39.
An Olympic gold-winning rhythmic gymnast who is believed to share a secret family with the dictator, 70, she normally shuns the limelight.
But wearing what appeared to be a wedding ring plus a prominent Z-badge, symbol of Russia’s bloody war, she spoke at a Moscow event marking the founding of strongly pro-Putin National Media Group [NMG], which she nominally heads.
“Let’s wish success to every one of us, and to all of us together,” said Kabaeva, who is Russia’s undisclosed first lady.
“Our people need this success. Because information work....in the conditions we live today, and the fight for our country - it is like a combat weapon.”
By "information work" she means propaganda.
The Putin-obedient media was “not at all inferior in its significance to the Kalashnikov machine gun," she said.
"War correspondents are well aware of this.”
Clenching her fist, she demanded: “Let’s keep working.”

The Russians sure spend big on propaganda. She is right that their lies are weapons just like the Kalashnikov. Their propaganda is so successful that they have over three score of so-called Freepers cheering the successes of the 23-year dictator and pedophile Putin’s forces when they take a Ukrainian mill town and raise the Hammer and Sickle flag.

The Western ( mostly US and UK) use of Information Warfare in this campaign has been critical to pumping the well for popular Western support of Ukraine by consistently messaging that Kiev is winning or can win a war with Russia with Western political and economic, standoff military support, and weapons
By highlighting every war tragedy as a Russian war crime, by casting every change in Russian military leadership and tactical operations as evidence of Russian failure. By displaying images of burning Russian armor as evidence of Russian inferiority and vulnerability to superior Western technology.
By outright deception on casualty figures for both sides,
IW is Very powerful stuff…influencing the public, priming them to accept soaring economic burdens in the cause of “ freedom for Ukraine” and destroying the “Russian threat” to the “ rules-based” world order
Unfortunately for Western IW…it hasnt weakened Russia internally or even internationally. In fact may have strengthened Russia by uniting its people, and failing to prevent Russia from becoming a key part of the emerging multipolar world order
So, Russia has been losing in IW, bigly, but current military and political events point to an inevitable need for Western IW to shift its message from outright Ukrainian victory, to …..whatever survives of Ukraine after a settlement, shows a glorious national spirit and that is “ victory”
