Not saying you are wrong; just know your surroundings and atmosphere.
Activated carbon is not recommended in a strong acid atmosphere.
ActCarbon are short use “escape” filters.
And the exposed mucous membranes (eyes) outside the half-face with get burned at high acid levels.

With escape cartridges, close your eyes and move swiftly to a safe area.

Wait the masks worn during COVID won’t protect me from the toxic cloud? Viron or whatever the word is for a singular or smallest part of a virus is a thousand times smaller than a particle from the cloud. If the mask can protect us from COVID, surely the cloth masks will protect everyone. Waiting for mask centers to open up and all the first responders to mask up and begin to going door to door handing out masks.

I understand that, but people who are 200 miles down range from this kind of thing aren’t going to be exposed to significant acidity from that plume. If for some reason it is an issue, sure, get the dual acid gas/organic (I’ve got an old school one that stacks cartridges or takes mixed hazard cartridges). This plum isn’t anything much worse than one one of the volcano level tire fires they’ve had out here in the past though and it appears that “click baiters” are milking this and other similar events like late morning cows...
