Yes, he was great in The Night Stalker.
Simon Oakland was his editor and was also a fine actor, roles included Sand Pebbles, and Baa Baa Black Sheep.
I can’t find anything on cause of death. Even at 83, the cause of death is normally mentioned. I hope it wasn’t a long severe illness.
.
'Toys!'
Oh noes!
Was it suddenly?!
Had to be the vax 🤪
They tried to remake it in the middle oughts. Didn't last more than a few episodes. That being said, in the original, there was one episode that stood out to me as I watched on DVD a few years back. The episode was The Werewolf and it had Kolchak being assigned to a cruise ship to check out mysterious deaths. There was another passenger assigned as his roommate. The other passenger asked Kolchak what he did for a living and Kolchak responded that he was with the press. The other guy said something along the lines of "Oh, the fifth column" and Kolchak responded "No, the fourth estate." Prescient.
I think she was in the most recent remake of a Christmas Story.
Are thinking of Richard McKenna in The Sand Pebbles? I just watched that movie last night.
Sorry, I meant Richard Crenna. He looks a little like Darren McGavin. Richard McKenna wrote the book.
everyone we knew growing up are gone.......its is sad....normal, but sad still.
I’m with you. They aren’t coming in “threes” anymore - we get news of someone known to us through movies or sporting events dying every day. Then we have the personal losses that are mounting up - some OLD, some not!
Hahaha...CLASSIC movie!
Soap poisoning…
Sorry, couldn’t resist.
Haha, love it 👍
My parents, aunts, and uncles are all gone. Now it’s us siblings and cousins…
That had to be a fun movie for the actors.😄
All our greatest generation are gone now too. Of the Baby Boomers the youngest is 63. We the old ones now.
I didn’t realize that Dillon started out with Second City, you can definitely see the comedy chops in that movie.
Richard Crenna’s performance in Sand Pebbles was superb.
Simon Oakland played a sailor-the one who boxed Mako in the bar and lost!
