My parents, aunts, and uncles are all gone. Now it’s us siblings and cousins…
All our greatest generation are gone now too. Of the Baby Boomers the youngest is 63. We the old ones now.
.
Yeah - I'm now down to my brother and our cousins.
We are now the 'senior' (ie: eldest 'surviving') members of the extended family now.
Great aunts, great uncles, grandparents, parents, aunts and
uncles are now all gone.
And that's three cousins now - not four.
Oldest cousin passed four years ago.
He started smoking cigarettes at age 19 and only stopped at
age 63 - when he stopped doing everything - including breathing.
Last time I saw him was at a family Thanksgiving dinner.
He sounded awful. I pulled him aside and tactfully yet
firmly stated - "You sound like he!! If you don't quit
the cigarettes, they ARE going to kill you!"
He didn't quit - and in a few more years they DID kill him.
His wife came home from work to find him in the easy chair -
blue and not breathing.
Nature's way of telling you that you WILL stop smoking - NOW.
