Death pronouncement by an LPN?
Is that normal practice?
No...............
Anything goes in nursing homes. Few are good. They are cash cows.
My understanding of an LPN is they pretty much are a doctor with all the privileges of such. I have LPN’s as care providers. One works directly under a doctor’s supervision. Two others do not.
What I will say is the LPN’s are much more competent and caring than my real doctor of 25 years who turned out to be very incompetent and instead of caring for my needs got angry when I complained of excess pain. He also got very angry when I refused the clot shots. Dumping this ass and going with an LPN was the best thing for my health care I ever did.
Back to the OP. I’d say the death pronouncement was a glitch, where the person probably exhibited zero signs of life and then came back. My dad did this in his last couple days, where he passed, then came back, then died a day later for good. The subject person was simply breathing with a heart beat, but probably had severe brain damage from lack of breathing and never knew what was going on and thus did not suffer.
My niece works in hospice and she pronounces
