“I hear they make for pretty good stew. I’ve only had raccoons and porcupines and marmots.. oh I forgot, chicken fried nutria (when in Louisiana eat like you live there).”

I have heard that possums, beaver and groundhogs are kind of greasy.

If the crop is especially large I have been known to harvest chicken of the tree and make authentic Brunswick stew.

I have read that mountain men thoroughly enjoyed mountain lion meat, cougar, jaguar, American big cats in general. I found that interesting but I have never had the opportunity.

I’ve had Groundhog friends. I used to feed them outside of my workplace.

They have beautiful eyes...

Groundhog/marmot something. My uncle hunted puma/mountain lions in West Texas/ /New Mexico. White meat, like pork. Ted Nugent says it’s delicious.

Brunswick Stew! Georgia friend’s granny made it out of squirrel and rabbit. Hard to find in East Texas. Can’t even get boiled peanuts.
