Social media users have criticized Universal Studios Hollywood, for its new “Mario Kart: Bowser’s Challenge” attraction due to the ride ‘vehicle’s body size limitations, which some have deemed “ridiculous.”
The ride vehicle can only accommodate people who have a 40-inch waist or smaller, according to the theme park website.
“Guests whose waistlines are 40” or greater may not be accommodated on the ride and are strongly encouraged to try the test seat provided at the entrance of the attraction to assist guests in determining their ability to ride,” the website stated.
The theme park said that its decision to include the waist limit isn’t something exclusive to Super Nintendo World and they are working with different departmets throughout the company to make sure everyone feels heard while keeping safety a top priority.

I wish airlines would do this.
Did you see that kid who just fell out of a descending ride?
He was chunky. They determined his seat restraint had released because of his size.
What? No oversized cart for Bowsers?
Aren’t they afraid of getting Mariocartitus?
Seems to be going around.
I’m nearing 70 with a 33” waist and would love to go on the ride
Can’t handle child porkers? awww Put down the spoon and sugar-laced sodas, kid.
Fat whale mom or dad wanting to ride with a kid
kids shouldn’t be 40”wide...
YOU ARE A DISGUSTING FATBODY, PRIVATE PYLE!!!!!
I can’t believe they have ‘test seats.’ I would have a horizontal line on a nearby wall. Less than this wide and ya ride! Can’t ride if ya hide the line!
Freegards
Simple pass through pipe gateway that is open to only 40”. If you don’t fit, you don’t sit.
Some physics issues about mass and acceleration, and Newton’s Laws.
Super Mario Kart, not so much...
He was way way more than chunky. I know you were being polite, but he was obese big time.
“I wish airlines would do this.”
That depends. Do you mean make the seats bigger or disenfranchise the rider. There are people out there that need to get from point a to b and their time and needs are just as important as the 32 inch waist people.
The airlines can build bigger planes to put more passengers in them to make more money. Then why can’t they build planes that service people of size. Not everyone of size is that way because they can’t push themselves away from the table. Illness, required medications, age, accidents...there’s a lot of reasons people get that way. But very few reasons they should be treated different from other people.
