One of my favorite movies that played at 4pm when we got out of grammar school. So good to finally find a song that tells the story.

You’ll have to help me. Wait! I got it!
Yes, it was a joy to get out of school. But I loved September when we got to go back. I built a subsite for my grammar school friends, which brought back so many memories.

I never heard that version. It’s great!
I married for the first time aged 19 to a wonderful man and he had a Charles Aznavour record that we played over and over again. Hearing Aznavour’s voice still makes me happy, so this version makes me smile a lot.

I always watched those old movies during 'Dialing for Dollars' on summer vacation or the 'Morning Movie'. It would be too hot and we would come in and watch them and cool off.
She obviously was not the host

Didn’t know that one. Chicago growing up, so I remember a horror movie local show at night that I was too scared to watch often.

It was just local affiliate fare. There were only three channels so everyone had to learn to watch the same things.

Roy Clark had a hit with this beautiful song, and sang it at Mickey Mantle’s funeral.

Perfect. Funeral songs can be so right. My grandfather, shown in my tagline video, asked that My Buddy be sung at his funeral. He was a VFW all the way.

I used to watch this when I was a wee one back in the 70’s (it was on reruns then). Really enjoyed that show.

(Who knew "Idiocracy", "1984", "Enemy of the State", and "Person of Interest" would be non-fiction?)
To: ro_dreaming
It was on reruns when I watched it in the 50’s, too! The movie is from 1947. I’ve got a whole host of old black and white movies I’d love to do, but I haven’t found the songs that tell their stories.

I think the Mick would have enjoyed it if they sang, “I want to live hard, love hard, die young, and leave a beautiful memory.”
To: mairdie
What a nice memory! Music always brings great memories of people, places, times and events.

Another great version I hadn’t heard. Really emotional rendering. I also liked the addition of the music bridge. Thank you!
