Legendary quarterback Tom Brady says he is retiring "for good" after 23 seasons in the NFL.
Brady, 45, first announced his retirement on this day last year but reversed his decision six weeks later, claiming he had "unfinished business".
He won seven Super Bowls in his career - six with the New England Patriots before his final triumph with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2021.

“He didn’t have Gronk this year, that was his security blanket.”
Same thing I was thinking!
I told my son this morning that not having a 6’6” battering ram with good hands sure makes a difference for an old QB.
I have had personal experience with Markey.
A more dispecable creature has never walked the halls of government. Even Ted Kennedy was better than that creep.
“So he wrecked his marriage for 1 crappy season?“
My guess is that it was probably the other way around…
He took on 1 more season to get out of a crappy marriage.
Just a hunch tho..
Re #2. Not long. When the first lawsuit over FTX hits, he will be looking for work.
Romo is the best commentator in a long time? What are you smoking? Romo is terrible.
“Throwing the football, and talking about football, are two completely different skill sets.”
You might be right, but I think you’re forgetting that Brady has run every QB meeting for the last 20 years. That’s a lot of talking, that’s a lot of analysis.
I wouldn’t be surprised that Brady tries to eventually reconcile with Giselle Bündchen, crazy as it sounds.
I will say even after the divorce, he seems to be a good father to his kids.
Ya’ll are brutal. I don’t care all that much for either of them but the rumor mill says he has been absent for a while, stringing her along when she asked him to spend more time together as a family. She is actually supposed to have been a hands on mom raising her own kids. Think about it, she is worth more money than him and gladly took a back seat to his career to be the steady influence in their kids lives. Gotta give her props. He promised her was done and in front of the world went back on his word to his family.
That’s what I imagine he is hoping for here. “Okay, I really am retired now—and look how I am thanking you for it all!”
Some might say he’s in the bargaining phase on his way to acceptance.
Or, God help us, these two publicity whores will get back together and we’ll have to suffer through more years of the drama.
The Spiccccceee.
No, I only responded to a post as the reason for their divorce.
I saw her the other day on video or pictures. She is out kicking up her heels.
However, I know ziltch about why the marriage broke up, except his refusal to retire, if that is the case.
Good points.
He didn’t wreck anything, the marriage was already on the rocks. His ex wife is a 46 year old “model” so she’s already a mental case. The notion of a female model that age is preposterous given that beautiful 25 year olds are a dime a dozen. Her millions and contracts are simply irrational like fat Victoria’s secret “models”, a sign of the insanity of the times.
She wasn’t a wife - she was a middle aged feminist pretending to be a model. He’s better off out. A man in his prime with millions doesn’t need a wife.
That’s true. I thought it would have lasted longer. I saw her in an interview a while back (maybe two years) and she seemed happy.
Romo was a middle of the road QB, but maybe the best commentator in a long time.
I can’t STAND to listen to Romo. He is like Cris Collingsworth on meth.
What is this assumption that a great athlete with millions in the bank, in his prime, looking great with hot young women available wants his middle aged man-faced wife back?
Successful men have no business being married. There’s too much to do and see out there. Brady has 20something playthings available WHY would Gisele be wanted back?
I can’t stand Collinsworth.
So there!
