Legendary quarterback Tom Brady says he is retiring "for good" after 23 seasons in the NFL.

Brady, 45, first announced his retirement on this day last year but reversed his decision six weeks later, claiming he had "unfinished business".

He won seven Super Bowls in his career - six with the New England Patriots before his final triumph with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2021.

He didn’t have Gronk this year, that was his security blanket.

I agree he should have retired after that Super Bowl win for Tampa. Having won Super Bowls with more than one team (and without Belichick), he had nothing left to prove. He would have gone out a living legend.

This past season was a trainwreck for him, both on the field and off the field. Though I think his marriage was already on the rocks regardless. I remember an incident a few years back when Brady was photographed with a MAGA hat in his locker (he was a Trump supporter). His wife was furious and he never mentioned Trump again. Being that henpecked is not good for a marriage. Now that he's free of her (and football), it will be interesting to see if he gets political again.

Like many, I stopped watching football a few years ago but always rooted for Brady to win. Just seems like a good guy all around.

I tend to agree with that, but people like hating Brady.
Maybe Gisele was a high maintenance bitch. No one seems to wonder that.
In her day, the highest paid female model.
Maybe two dominant personalities bump heads too often…

Not unusual for some folks. We all reach a point where
we aren't near as capable as we were in the past but some
can't accept the reality.

I would think that Fox did some serious market research/screen tests, etc before they signed a contract for $375 million for ten years.

The question is are they going to get rid of Howie, Terry, Gronk off of the desk ?
Most likely Terry. One of those OLD white guys has got to give up his seat.

...it will be interesting to see if he gets political again.

This, and here in Massachusetts to unseat Liawatha or Mr.Frosty Markey.

If he can't unseat one of those worthless a-holes, this country is truly doomed.

Romo was a middle of the road QB, but maybe the best commentator in a long time.

I guess Peyton Manning really likes his gig with his brother, because he would absolutely kill it as a commentator.

10 years @ $30 ea at Fox.

Not bad for a “retirement job.”

I am just going by what she said let to the breakup. I can only take her word for it.

I assume she gave him an ultimatum, it’s either football or me! and he choose football.

He won’t ever live in cold weather again.

I cannot imagine living in a cold environment with the body aches he must have.

I am thinking he is going to break down and have a cheeseburger.

I would like to see NBC replace Chris Collinsworth with ANYBODY.

Either of the Manning brothers would be an improvement of him.
Plus Peyton is funny in a self deprecating sort of way.

I find Romo annoying, I don’t see why people think so highly of him. Much rather have Peyton.

He’d can be just like Markey - returning to Massachusetts only to campaign and then head back to Maryland for the rest of the year.

Great gig, if you can get it.

Fox signed him for $375 million and 10 years?

I am hearing that for the first time.

If true, they just burned up $365 million.

Bitcoin was a safer bet than Tom Brady doing color commentary!
