Surprised Roger Waters didn’t make the list.

And I hadn't even looked at the list before I posted...I swear! ;-) The Who,in their early days, were just about the best...IMO. Raw,enthusiastic...real rock & roll. When they went "sophisticated" I kind of lost interest.

Rock just doesn't get much better than Happy Jack,Substitute and Can't Explain.

Paul McCartney in the top five?

Give me a break.

These lists are totally stupid.

They always go back to personal favorites and popularity.

Probably my favorite Squire bass line was “Tempus Fugit” from the Drama album. And I don’t care what anyone says, Drama was a great Yes album.

But no mention of Levin’s 40-ish years as a member of King Crimson. Sigh.

He started as a guitarist, too. Switched to bass while in Hawkwind.

Live at Leeds is *the* seminal punk rock album. Especially the extended version.

Disagree? FIGHT ME!

I didn't see Gene Wright of the Dave Brubeck Quartet. Massive omission.

Macca totally belongs in the Top Five. He influenced a heck of a lot of bass players.

I will say though, the 1970 “Isle of Wight” Young Man Blues, blew away the Live at Leeds version.

If you mean John Wetton (who I didn’t know died back in 2017), that reminds me of another former Uriah Heep bassist, the late Gary Thain.

Lee Sklar regularly does YT videos.

I love the way he goes on long detailed reminisces of specific recording sessions.

That was my question. Leland Sklar is unbelievably active still. Check his daily show on YouTube; it’s great.
