My daughter used to be a competitive figure skater. Adult skaters (adults who are learning to skate) would sometimes skate at local competitions/exhibitions — they had their own “competitive” divisions. I can’t imagine any of them being showcased at a big national event.
Trans just makes it even more cringe.
