The Driver’s intentions were so obvious that no one at Camp Pendelton will officially admit knowing what those intentions were.
Thank you to those Marine’s on guard duty for paying attention and not being engrossed into their phones.
My dad was a Staff SGT / Weapons Instructor..there..after WWII. He got called back after WWII was done....and then the Korean War came about...
Sounds like the barrier worked as planned.
Perhaps the next-gen barrier could incorporate a car crusher so as to minimize cleanup and trips to the hospital for the unworthy.
The perps are in the hospital? The recovery workers got there too fast.
(“final denial barriers”)
An Abrams tank?
Oh wait, not Georgia...never mind...
I would have let the car burn.
“Crashed the gate doing 98”
That sudden stop is what hurts the most.
I was stationed at Kaneohe Bay in the late '70s and we had one luckless and drunk Marine driver try to escape the MPs chasing him by leaving the base at high speed. The MPs radioed ahead to the gate and told the MP on duty to "Stop that car".
That MP drew his .45 and shot the driver through the head as he passed by him at over 80 miles an hour (never hit glass: the slug went through both open side windows).
The car with the dead driver rolled on for about a mile before hitting something and stopping.
When you tell a Marine MP to stop somebody, they stop him.
The base is located just off I-5. There is a Border Patrol check point at Sana Nofray(sp). There have been many instances of smugglers trying to avoid the check point by going through the base.
Smugglers are not the brightest people.
