Difference is Waters did the vast majority of the writing, Gilmour wrote very few PF songs. Even after Waters left, Gilmour’s wife actually wrote a lot of the post-Waters PF songs.

Take The Wall, remove all the songs that Gilmour co-wrote, and it's not the same. In fact, the leftovers are largely crap.

I'm not saying Roger is talentless. I'm saying he's worse on his own. He needs Gilmour.
